Targeted tumor therapy based on a micellar drug carrier operating via three synergic mechanisms: enhanced tumor accumulation, controlled release of the drug, and overcoming multidrug resistance of the cancer cells. Synergy of these mechanisms and reduction of side effects of the drug is essential to ensure that such treatment could be effective in combination with immunooncotherapy in treatment of chemoresistant cancers, such as head and neck carcinomas.
