For students
We Are Looking for a New Colleague for the Laboratory of Tumor Immunology at the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, v.v.i.
What We Offer:
We offer a wide range of research topics to choose from, including:
- The study of interactions between the immune system and tumors,
- Mechanisms of antitumor immunity,
- Immunotherapy and strategies for modulating antitumor immune responses.
Our primary focus is on the research of IL-2 immunocomplexes and various anti-IL-2 monoclonal antibodies, which are exceptionally potent stimulators of immunity mediated by T cells and NK cells. We are also involved in the research of polymeric drugs, which have lower nonspecific toxicity compared to free drugs. These polymeric drugs can be targeted to tumor tissue, and with the use of appropriate chemical linkers, enable controlled drug release.
The specific research topics will depend on the current stage of our projects and will be agreed upon between the supervisor and the student. We will teach you everything you need, but prior lab experience is always an advantage.
Additional Benefits:
Our laboratory is equipped with modern facilities and provides access to state-of-the-art instruments and the services of the institute’s core facilities.
We use advanced methods of molecular and cellular biology and biochemistry, including cutting-edge microscopy techniques.
The successful candidate will likely be employed on a part-time basis funded by grant resources in addition to receiving a stipend.
